Overview
Profile Preferences controls how your Client Portal looks and behaves for you: the display language, the time zone used for the times you see, the currency your balances are displayed in, and which of our communications you receive.
All four settings sit on the same page and save with one Update button. Changes apply immediately.
Step-by-step instructions
Follow the steps below to complete this process:
Steps
- Log in to your Client Portal at portal.ingotbrokers.com.
- Click the user icon at the top-right corner.
- Select Profile Preferences.
- Change the settings you need.
- Click Update.
Language
- Choose your preferred language from the Language dropdown.
- This changes your Client Portal display, and our emails follow the same setting.
- Your MT4/MT5 platform language is set inside the platform itself, not here.
Time Zone
- Choose your time zone from the Timezone dropdown.
- Your Dashboard shows two clocks: MetaTrader Time (GMT+3, the server time your trades are stamped with) and Current Time (your selected time zone).
- Changing your time zone does not change MetaTrader server time. Trade times on statements and reports remain in server time — which is why a trade time can look a couple of hours off your local clock.
Display Currency
- Choose your preferred currency from the Display Currency dropdown.
Notifications
- Daily Newsletter — daily market commentary and analysis.
- Promotion — offers, campaigns and promotional announcements.
- Events — webinars, seminars and INGOT events.
- Updates On Our News — company news and product updates.
- Tick or untick each option, then click Update.
What you'll still receive
- These four options control marketing communications only.
- Essential notifications always continue: transaction confirmations, margin and account alerts, verification and document requests, security notices, and regulatory or legal notifications.
- These cannot be switched off, because we're required to send them.
Troubleshooting
If you run into issues, the most common causes and fixes are listed below.
Your changes don't save
- Make sure you clicked Update after making the change. Refresh the page and check whether the new value is shown.
Your trade times still look wrong after changing your time zone
- Trade times remain in MetaTrader server time (GMT+3). Compare against the MetaTrader Time clock on your Dashboard rather than your local clock.
Your balance looks different after changing display currency
- Display Currency converts the figure for display only, using a live rate. Your actual account balance is unchanged and is shown in the account's own currency in the Accounts tab.
You're still receiving emails after unticking the boxes
- Allow a short time for the change to take effect — a campaign already queued may still reach you. If emails continue beyond that, contact Customer Experience via live chat.
Frequently asked questions
Q: How do I change the portal language?
A: Log in, click the user icon, select Profile Preferences, choose your language, and click Update.
Q: Can I change my trading account's real currency?
A: No — it's fixed when the account is created. Open an additional trading account in the currency you want. See the Accounts Management articles.
Q: Why is the trade time different from my local time?
A: Trade times use MetaTrader server time (GMT+3). Your time zone setting changes the portal display but not the server timestamps.
Q: How do I stop marketing emails?
A: Untick Daily Newsletter, Promotion, Events and Updates On Our News in Profile Preferences, then click Update.
Q: Can I turn off all emails, including account notifications?
A: No. Transaction, security, verification and regulatory notifications can't be switched off, as we're required to send them.
