Overview
When your trading account is created, INGOT automatically sends an email containing everything you need to log in to MT4 or MT5. This article explains where to find that email and what is inside it.
Your trading account credentials are different from your Client Portal login. Trading accounts use a numeric account number, not your email address.
Step-by-step instructions
Follow these steps to locate your trading account credentials:
- Open the inbox of the email address you registered with INGOT.
- Search for an email with the subject "It's Official: You're a Trader!"
- If you cannot find it, check your spam or junk folder.
- Open the email — it contains your trading account number, trading password, server name, and platform information (MT4 or MT5).
- Use these credentials when logging in to MetaTrader.
Troubleshooting
You cannot find the welcome email anywhere
- Check your spam, junk, promotions, and updates folders. Search for the exact subject line "It's Official: You're a Trader!". If it is still missing, contact Customer Experience and we can resend the email after verifying your identity.
You have multiple welcome emails
- If you have multiple trading accounts (for example, a demo and a live account), you will receive a separate welcome email for each. Make sure you are using the correct credentials for the account you intend to log in to.
You have changed your registered email since the account was created
- The welcome email was sent to the email address registered at the time of account creation. If that inbox is no longer accessible, please contact Customer Experience for identity verification and reissue.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What information is in the welcome email?
A: Your trading account number, your trading password, the server name (INGOTSC-Server), and the platform your account is set up on (MT4 or MT5).
Q: Can I change my trading account number?
A: No. Trading account numbers are unique identifiers assigned at account creation and cannot be changed. You can open additional accounts if needed.
Q: What is the difference between Master Password and Investor Password?
A: The Master Password gives full access — placing trades, depositing, withdrawing. The Investor Password is view-only and useful for sharing your account performance with a money manager or analyst.
Q: I deleted the welcome email — can I get a new one?
A: Yes. Contact Customer Experience and, after verifying your identity, we can resend the credentials.
